Disruptive Downhole
Swarf Collection

QUICK FACTS

  • 100% Swarf Capture. Full debris collection in a single run.

  • Tool Versions: 9 5/8″–10 3/4″ and 13 3/8″–14″

  • Safe and efficient. No clean-up runs. No BOP pulls.

  • 60+ runs. Zero partial collection failures.

  • Field proven and trusted by IOCs & NOCs worldwide.

How It Works

The Swarfix® WCT operates using a unique and efficient system designed for optimal downhole swarf collection. At the core of the system is the Rolling Anchor, which locks and rotates the Conveyor Screw to drive the collection process. As swarf is gathered, the Magnet Sleeve continuously self-cleans during operation, ensuring consistent magnetic strength throughout the job. The collected swarf is stored in a High-Capacity Container, specifically sized to accommodate the full volume produced during whipstock milling. This integrated approach ensures reliable performance and minimal downtime.

Specifications

1338 Swarfix® Well Cleaning Tool (WCT)

Description
Swarfix® WCT technology is designed to collect and store swarf in a container downhole during operation to eliminate:

  • Swarf in return flow
  • Swarf through BOP (impact on safety, time, and cost)
  • Handling of swarf offshore

Applications for swarf collection

  • Whipstock window milling
  • Polish run

Swarfix® WCT can be run in single or “multi” configuration dependent on the amount of swarf to be captured.

Specifications

Swarfix® WCT 958

Swarfix® WCT will collect, store and secure all swarf downhole inside the “Swarf Container”, no swarf will be circulated through BOP to surface.

Positive Impact on

  • Operational safety by no swarf circulated through BOP
  • Operational efficiency by potential excluding BOP cleaning
  • No swarf left downhole that may cause negative impact on following operational sequences
  • ECD by no change in OD/flow area during milling operation
  • No swarf handling at surface
  • All swarf handling onshore without manual handling
  • Swarf separated from cuttings by the Swarfix® WCT only collect magnetic material, support easier handling for recycling of the waste

Applications

  • Window milling
  • Cleanout runs

Adaptability / Safety

The Swarfix WCT integrates with multiple BHA configurations and casing profiles. It is lightweight, modular, and designed for easy handling on deck. Post-operation, the sealed swarf container is returned to shore for secure and sustainable disposal.

Visual Demonstration

This page includes 3D illustrations, cross-sections, and a demonstration film to show the WCT’s swarf collection process in action. These visual tools support operator training and operational planning.
